THANK YOU (performance, 2025)
The research was conducted in isolation, residing in Subbacultcha’s s105 in early 2020 in renowned, former night club De School. Boris and Olivier created the performance by use of a time-bound medium, within a time-bound process. They pre-determined and scheduled their entire work process hour by hour, a rigidity that’s slowly becoming the norm in arts. The duo wanted to find out what forms of freedom and what kind of momentum could arise within a process as rigid as this.
The performance is a mix of industrial noise, field recordings, and live recitals of automatic writings and stream of consiousness texts. Sound and text becomes a landscape of noise. By the use of gaffer tape, the two tie chairs to the window sills, as if they come to a stand still in the middle of a fall.
